Check & Update Your Voter Information

It is crucial that you are registered to vote with the correct, most up to date information. If you are not, you will likely encounter problems when you go to vote or request an absentee/ mail-in ballot. This means that you may even be denied the ability to vote and be forced to vote with a provisional ballot- which can have a complicated process you need to complete to ensure

your vote gets counted.

In this section you can check your voter registration information to make sure you are registered to vote, and or that the information you are registered with is correct, and you will be able to update your voter registration information if it turns out something on your registration is wrong or out of date.

It’s important to make sure your voter registration information is up to date, otherwise you will encounter problems when you’re at the polls or requesting a mail-in/ absentee ballot. You need to update your voter registration information if you changed your name, your address, or if you want to change your political party affiliation.

Click on your home state to be taken to your state's website where there is information on how you can update your voter registration information. In most states, you update your voter registration by registering to vote, so pay attention to your state's voter registration page for your state so you don't do the wrong thing. Tip: use "cntrl f" and "update" or "change" to quickly be taken to where the page discusses updating your registration.
You have to update your voter registration information if your name or address has changed, or if you want to change your political party affiliation.
